Rug Cleaning Exeter And Across Devon – Beautiful Silk Rug Restored In Our Exeter Workshop
This beautiful pale patterned silk rug arrived at our Exeter rug cleaning workshop heavily soiled from everyday use. While the delicate colours and intricate floral design were still visible, a significant amount of embedded dry soil had accumulated deep within the pile.
The towel test shown during inspection highlighted just how much contamination was present within the fibres. This hidden grit and dust can gradually dull colours, flatten the pile and accelerate wear if left untreated.
Because of the delicate nature of silk fibres, specialist dry-cleaning techniques were selected to safely remove contamination while protecting the rug's colours, texture and structure. Every stage of the cleaning process was carried out with care, including detailed attention to the fringes and borders.
The finished result speaks for itself. Colours are now clearer and more defined, the pile has regained its softness and lustre, and the overall appearance of the rug has been transformed while preserving the delicate characteristics that make silk rugs so special.
