Curtain Cleaning in Kingskerswell Fit For A King!

 

Today MASTERCLEAN® was in Kingskerswell, near Newton Abbot, carrying out professional in-situ curtain cleaning for a local client.

The job involved six sets of curtains, complete with pelmets and swags, all being professionally cleaned while remaining in place.

Cleaning curtains in situ is a specialist service and, for many homes, a much more convenient alternative to taking curtains down and sending them away. It also allows us to work carefully with the individual construction, fabric and finish of each set while they remain exactly where they belong.

Professional In-Situ Curtain Cleaning

ur process begins with an assessment of the curtains and their condition before cleaning starts. We then work methodically across the fabric, paying particular attention to folds, edges and areas where dust can accumulate over time.

Specialist equipment allows us to clean the curtains in the home without removing them from their tracks or poles, including more elaborate window dressings such as the pelmets and swags we were working with today.

For our client, that meant six sets could be professionally cleaned without the disruption involved in removing, transporting and rehanging them.

Six Very Different Sets of Curtains

One of the lovely things about today's job was the variety.

We were working with different patterned fabrics and window arrangements throughout the property, each requiring the same careful approach but presenting quite a different appearance once finished.

It also gave us an opportunity to photograph some of the actual cleaning process rather than simply showing the finished curtains. We think it's useful for customers to see how professional curtain cleaning is carried out as well as the finished result.

A Little Bit About Kingskerswell

While working here today, we discovered something interesting about the village name.

Kingskerswell has a history stretching back to the Domesday Book, where an earlier form of the name was recorded. The name is associated with local springs and watercress, while the later “King's” element reflects the manor's historical connection with the Crown.

It's one of those small pieces of local history we probably wouldn't have discovered had a day's work not brought us here.

And, as it turns out, we won't have long to wait before coming back.

Back in Kingskerswell Next Week

While today's six sets of curtains were being cleaned, we learned that we're returning to the very same road next week to clean the next-door neighbour's curtains.

That's always particularly nice.
