A recent MASTERCLEAN® visit took us to a beautiful period lodge at Escot Park, near Ottery St Mary in East Devon, for professional upholstery cleaning.

Our work for the day included a suite of light striped upholstered furniture, with sofas, chairs and removable cushions requiring careful cleaning throughout.

Inside the lodge, however, our attention was firmly on the upholstery.

Before cleaning, we assess the fabric and its condition so that the appropriate products and cleaning method can be selected.

The upholstery was then cleaned methodically using our professional upholstery equipment, working across the fabric to remove accumulated soil while controlling the amount of moisture being introduced.

The controlled flow rate, low moisture upholstery extraction tool allows us to work accurately across individual sections of the furniture, producing a deep clean with far less moisture than conventional hand tools, allowing for a deep clean that dries quickly.

Cleaning the Complete Suite

This wasn't simply a case of cleaning the visible face of one sofa. The removable cushions and individual pieces were worked on separately so that the suite could be cleaned thoroughly and consistently.

Jobs like this are also a good example of why professional upholstery cleaning can involve considerably more detailed work than its finished appearance might suggest. Each piece has to be assessed and cleaned appropriately, with particular attention paid to areas receiving the greatest everyday use.

Once completed, the furniture was left clean, fresh and ready to dry, quickly and naturally.
